Wine story
Capo Zafferano
PRIMITIVO DI MANDURIA
Puglia · Primitivo
A warm, generous southern Italian red with ripe fruit and velvety tannins.
01 · Winery
The generous face of southern Italy
The name Capo Zafferano recalls a Mediterranean headland and its white lighthouse above turquoise water. The range focuses on the grapes and sun-filled styles of southern Italy.
Its Primitivo aims to express the warmth of Puglia while retaining enough savoury freshness to balance the rich fruit.
02 · Place
Manduria between two seas
Manduria sits in the heel of Italy between the Ionian and Adriatic seas. Intense sunshine gives Primitivo generous ripeness, while coastal influence helps preserve balance.
03 · In the cellar
Winemaking with purpose
After fermentation and malolactic conversion, the wine matures for about nine months in selected French and American oak. Vanilla and toast support rather than replace the ripe plum fruit.
Winery and production information is based on the producer’s official materials.
