Wine story
Rocca delle Macìe
CHIANTI CLASSICO
Tuscany · Sangiovese
A Tuscan classic built on sour cherry, herbs and food-friendly freshness.
01 · Winery
A filmmaker’s dream turned into a winery
Film producer Italo Zingarelli bought the Le Macìe estate near Castellina in Chianti in 1973 and transformed his love of Tuscany into a family wine project.
The Zingarelli family continues that story today, with Sangiovese, red-fruit freshness and a natural affinity for Tuscan food at its centre.
02 · Place
The Black Rooster between Florence and Siena
Chianti Classico comes from the historic hills between Florence and Siena. Stony soils and warm days ripen Sangiovese, while elevation and cooler nights preserve acidity.
03 · In the cellar
Winemaking with purpose
Traditional fermentation and oak maturation soften the tannins and add spice. The wine retains the bright acidity that makes Sangiovese so effective with tomato, olive oil and roast meat.
Winery and production information is based on the producer’s official materials.
